A crack by the garage that's wider than it was last summer. A corner that broke off where the truck turns in. Pits and flaking where the surface is wearing away.

Cracks let water into the base. In Brevard's sandy soil, that's how a small crack turns into a sunken, broken section.

Most damage can be fixed. Some of it shouldn't be. We'll tell you which.

What kind of concrete damage can be repaired?

  • Cracks. Cleaned out and filled so water stays out of the base.
  • Chips, pits and broken edges. Loose concrete comes out and the spot is patched.
  • One bad section. When a single section is too far gone, it's cut out at the joints and repoured, and the rest of the driveway stays.

We do all three, with our own crew.

Repair fixes damage. If the slab is solid but the whole surface looks tired, that's resurfacing.

Repair, lift, resurface or replace?

We look for the cause before we fix the crack. Filling a crack over a washed-out base just moves the problem.

Why is my driveway cracking?

Brevard concrete doesn't crack from frost. It cracks from what's underneath and what drives over it.

  • Washed-out base. Downspouts, sprinklers and summer storms carry sand out from under the slab.
  • Roots. Trees near the driveway lift and split it from below.
  • Heat. Concrete expands and shrinks. Without control joints (cuts that tell it where to crack), it cracks wherever it wants.
  • Weight. Trucks, trailers and RVs on a slab that wasn't built for them, especially at the edges.
  • The original pour. A thin slab, a soft base or no steel.

Fine hairline cracks are common as concrete ages. Watch for cracks that get wider, cracks where one side sits higher, and pieces that move.

Frequently asked questions

Are these your prices?

No. They're published market estimates, and we list the source. Your actual price comes from a free estimate.

Will the crack come back?

A filled crack can still move with heat and the ground. Filling it keeps water out of the base, which is what turns small cracks into big ones. If the real cause is roots or a washed-out base, we'll tell you, because filler won't fix that.

Can I repair concrete myself?

A fine hairline crack, maybe, with a store-bought filler. Wide cracks, broken edges and anything that's sinking need the cause fixed, not just the surface covered.

Is repair cheaper than a new driveway?

Usually, when the damage is in a few spots. When it's everywhere, repairs add up and a new driveway can be the better spend. Ask us for both numbers.

How soon can I use it?

A repoured section follows new-concrete guidance. Industry guidance is 7 days before cars (Concrete Network). Fillers and patches depend on the product. We'll confirm the timing for your job before we start.

Does a repair need a permit?

It depends on the work and on who controls the road in front of your property. If your job needs a permit, we handle getting it.

Send us a photo of the crack.
